Do you know a CUPE member or group of members who champion workplace literacy and clear language? Get your nomination in by July 29, 2013.The CUPE National Literacy Committee is looking for a literacy champion. This is a member or group of members who have promoted workplace literacy or clear language. Literacy champions do different things. The award winner will receive a trophy and CUPE will make a donation to the social justice organization on their behalf. …more

First Nations bargaining delegates deliver strong message of unity
About a dozen delegates gathered at the Fishermen’s Hall in Prince Rupert, B.C., for the Hospital Employee’s Union (HEU) premier provincial First Nations Bargaining Conference May 22 to 23.
It was the first time representatives from each nation – Nisga’a, Gitxsan (Gitanyow, Gitwangak), Skidegate (Haida Gwaii), Stz’uminus – came together to share bargaining ideas and strategies. Continue reading
