| Hi All, I am co-ordinating the CUPE Booth for Old Home week, August 8th – 17th and the CUPE Float in the Gold CUP and Saucer Parade, August 16th. The purpose of both events is to promote CUPE in our communities and the valuable public services our members provide.
Once again we are looking for CUPE members to volunteer to help out with both the ten day booth and the float. The booth runs from August 8th – 17th from 10 am – 10 pm daily. Expenses for travel, child care, parking, etc. will be paid as well as a $17.00 per diem to cover the cost of a meal if need be. Each volunteer will be provided with a T-shirt when working the booth. Volunteers names will be at the entrance booths so no fee will be charged for entrance. There will be a brief update to all volunteers as to what material will be handed out at the booth. The Gold Cup and Saucer parade is August 16th, this year’s theme is “Parade of Hero’s”, if you have any suggestion as to how to decorate our float based around that theme please let me know. If you are interested in helping out with the float, set up, being in the parade, tear down or all three, please let me know. The morning of the parade we will supply coffee and muffins for our set up crew. During the parade we will have drinks and snacks on the float. After the parade we will have a pizza lunch for all those involved. Our goal is to have representation from all locals in the booth and on the float. Look forward to hearing from you!
